Brussels Airport (BRU) got its new name "Brussels Airport, Welcome to Europe" in October 2006. It is an international airport located 11 km from Brussels Zaventem.The train station located under the terminal offers direct services to Brussels, De Panne, Gent, Hasselt, Landen, Leuven, Liege, Nivelles and Quévy. The airport lies along the N-201 and is easily accessible from the outer ring road around Brussels.There are six different car rental companies at the airport.
In 2009, 16,999,618 passengers pass through the airport. Some of the airlines which have headquarters here are: Brussels Airlines, Sudia Arabian Airlines Cargo and European Air Transport.
The new terminal, Pier A is exclusively for Schengen flights.Many passengers complain that there is great distance between the check-in counters and gates for Pier A.
There are several conference rooms at the airport, Sky Hall Reception Room can accommodate 1500 people. Otherwise, the supply of cafes, restaurants and shops very well.
There is one hotel at the airport, the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel.
