Other notable cities in Costa Rica is Cartago, Alajuela , Liberia, Caldera, Gofito, Puerto Limón, San Isidro and Puentarenas .The latter is a port city with a large cruise traffic. The seaside resort Tamarindo is also a famous tourist resort on Costa Rica's north coast.
The country's main airport is called Juan Santa Maria International Airport , situated at Alajuela - 19 km northwest of the capital San José.
