Makarska miniguide
Makarska, a resort south of Split on the Adriatic Sea, namely, the Makarska Riviera in Dalmatia. The majestic Mount Biokovo which is 1700 meters high is located behind the city. From here the ferry to Sumartin on Brac Island.
Makarska is a seaside resort and fishing port with blue water and several kilometers long beaches. The picturesque coastal location offers activities such as parasailing, fishing, snorkeling and wind surfing. Here you can dive from cliffs into the aquamarine sea. At the promenade, visitors can sit at one of the many cafes and enjoy the Italian pizza or the lively nightlife. Biokovo National Park has several excellent trails with beautiful views. The Cetina River, visitors can go rafting and kayaking. In Makarska is the cave that the Yugoslav Tito's partisans hid from the Nazis during the Second World War.
Split Airport is situated 64 km from Makarska.
