Velika Gorica is situated 15 kilometers south of the capital Zagreb, in northern Croatia .Maintaining Gorica is Croatia's seventh largest city with 35,000 inhabitants in the city center. A total of 64,000 living in the municipality.
The city was founded in 1278, and became in 1990 part of the capital Zagreb. Here lies the remains of the Roman city of Andautonia at Šćitarjevo, north of downtown.
