Protaras miniguide
Protaras is located on Fig Tree Bay Cyprus east coast, west of Larnaca .20,000 inhabitants live here.
From ancient times the region is famous for potatoes. Fig Tree Bay is one of the best beaches in the area. Here, visitors can enjoy the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the sandy beach. On a hill above the town landmark Profitis Ilias church, which is the small stone church. From the 100-meter high church is the panoramic view of Protaras and the sea. There are also many restaurants and traditional tavernas in Protaras. Visitors can also take a day trip to the Natural Park of Cape Greco, the south end of Famagustabukta, between Ayia Napa and Protaras. Here are nice hiking trails, excellent diving, swimming coves and ideal for water sports.
Larnaca International Airport is 37 kilometers from the center of Protaras.
