Farum miniguide
Farum is a small town in Furesø municipality on Zealand (approx. 18,500 inhabitants in 2009) - about 20 kilometers northwest of Copenhagen .Administrative belongs to the town Capital Region.
Farum is first mentioned in historical sources from 1370
The city has a beautiful location - midway between Lakes Farum Sø and Furesø, and both west and east of the town is a popular park areas. To the west, Farum Nature Park, while in the east, the area Stavnsholtkilen.
Farum main sights are Kumbelhaven and Sculpture Park - both located in the center. Kumbelhaven was created by the multi-artist Piet Hein, who under the pseudonym Kumbel became famous for his short, subtle poems - "Gruk". The garden is more of Piet Hein's own sculpture - as the sculpture park is designed around eight sculptures by international sculptors.
Nearest international airport is Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup .
