Randers miniguide
Randers is a city in eastern Jutland, which falls under Region Midtjylland, and have around. 60,000 inhabitants (2009). Randers is situated 35 km north of Aarhus , and is an important traffic hub for both north-and southbound routes.
A major tourist attraction in this city is Randers Regnskov - Northern Europe's largest artificial forest, with 350 different plant species and 175 different animal species. There is also a slangeterrarium and a great aquarium. Other sights include Cultural Museum - documenting Randers' history from antiquity to the present day, and Randers Art Museum - which has the country's broadest collection of Danish art.
In addition, a visit to the Claus Holm Castle from the 1690's recommended. The castle is located 12 km southeast of Randers and is open to the public in the summer. The beautiful Castle Park in baroque style with fountains and avenues are also an attraction in itself.
The nearest airport is Aarhus Airport , the 4 largest in Denmark .There are good bus connections from Randers to the airport and the journey time is approx. 1 hour.
