Skive (20,686 inhabitants in 2009) is located in Region Midtjylland - specifically the Salling peninsula, where the Karup Å flows into the Limfjord.
Although most of the disc center consists of buildings from the late 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, the city can expect its history back to medieval times. The original medieval architecture is currently represented by the manor Crab Holm (such as home to a folk high school) and Our Lady Church - both of which are among the discs main attractions.
The proximity to the Limfjord and Karup To do that the city has invested a lot to attract tourists who enjoy sailing and angling. It is also good for swimming not far from downtown. You can otherwise take the ferry to the idyllic Limfjordsøya Fur (the crossing takes just minutes), where you can study fossils, experience exciting art - or simply relax.
