Burnley is a town in the county of Lancashire in England .County is located on the west coast of northern England, while Burnley are to the east of Lancashire. Rivers River Calder and River Brun converge here, and it is about 18 km to the town of Blackburn in the west. It is approx. 35 km to Manchester which is located south of Burnley.The population is estimated at over 70 000 (2007).
In the 1200s got Burnley permission to hold the market, and at the end of the 1700s the city had expanded considerably because of its important role in the cotton industry. Today, there are several historic buildings in the city, including the medieval Towneley Hall, which houses a museum and a gallery. In addition to the local brewery Moorhouse's from 1865, limits the town with more festivals like Burnley National Blues Festival, one of the nation's largest.
The nearest major airport is Leeds Bradford International Airport which is located about 40 km outside Burnley. The airport offers flights to many different countries.
