Annecy is a city in eastern France .The city is located 33 miles south of Geneva, at the north-west end of the 14-kilometer-long Lake Annecy. Annecy is the capital of the Ministry of Haute-Savoie. The town has approx. 50,000 inhabitants in the city, 137,000 with the suburbs. More channels passing through the center of town.
Annecy is a tourist town located in the northern part of the French Alps. The medieval town was around a castle from the 1400s. The city was an important Catholic center during the Reformation, and here is a late Gothic cathedral. Annecy was in French hands in 1860. In early August, held a festival at the lake with fireworks and entertainment. The city is also known for its animation festival that takes place in June each year.
Airport Annecy - Meythet is located six miles outside the city center of Annecy, and Geneva airport is 50 miles away. There are buses between Geneva and Annecy.
