Nancy grew up around a castle, and became the capital of the duchy of Lorraine in 100's. The city is still the region's cultural center. Nancy has several magnificent buildings as the church Église des Cordeliers from the 1400's where the Dukes of Lorraine are buried. City Hall, the Cathedral and a former ducal palace from 1300-1500's is also beautiful. Seats Place Stanislas, Place de la Carrière, with its rococo buildings are also worth a visit, the UNESCO list. The city has several art museums. Musée de l'Ecole de Nancy focuses on the Art Nouveau style.There are also several buildings, this style of Nancy.
