Tours is a city in central France, south of Nantes .Tours is located on the River Cher expiration of the Loire. It is the capital of the Ministry of Indre-et-Loire. Stay around. 133,000 inhabitants, 307,000 of the suburbs.
The town was originally a Celtic city. Cesar conquered the city in the 50th century. On the 200-number was the center of Christianity's spread in Gaul area. The old town has many buildings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Here is the Gothic St. Gatien Cathedral which was begun in 1170 and completed in 1547. Tours also St. Julien Church and Archbishop's Palace in the Renaissance from the 1600s, now Museum of Art. Other attractions include Castle Tours, Loire river, the flower market and the square Place Plumereau and old town. The region around Tours, Touraine is famous for its wines and the French accent. In Tours is also a beer academy.
