Berlin Schönefeld Airport miniguide
Berlin Schoenefeld Airport (SXF) is located close to Schönefeld in Brandenburg 18 km southeast of Berlin .There is both good rail and bus links between the airport and Berlin. The car rental companies that offer their service at the airport are Hertz, Sixt, Budget, National, Alamo, Europcar and Avis.
The airport is now undergoing a major renovation project. From 2011, it called Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport and is the only airport in Berlin, which means that Berlin's Tegel Airport to close. 6.6 million passengers visited Berlin Schoenefeld Airport in 2008. It is the main base for easyJet and Germanwings. It has 4 terminals where Terminal A is the largest and most important.
Schönefeld Airport has a good selection of shops and restaurants, most located in Terminal A, duty free shop is only available in Terminal D. Other amenities include first aid, children's play room, baby rooms, bank, post office and business center. Hotel Albergo is located 1 km from the airstrip and, while Holiday Inn Schönefeld Airport and the Airport Hotel Berlin Schönefeld is located 2 km from the airport.
