Coburg is located by the river itz in Germany's southernmost state, Bavaria - and has about 42,000 inhabitants.Coburg was granted city status in 1331, and the city has many preserved buildings in the Renaissance style from 1500 - and 1600's.
On a hill in the city is one of the largest and most beautiful castle - Veste Coburg. It was built in 1225, and include known as Martin Luther's residence in 1530. At Schlossplatz in the heart of the city is another, somewhat younger, castle - Schloss Ehrenburg (listed 1543). Here is another of the city's most beautiful buildings - Landestheater Coburg. Between the Schlossplatz and the Veste Coburg will find a large, "English" park.
Otherwise, there are also a number of other sights in Coburg - both historic and modern. Among the latter must Aquaria mentioned. There is a large recreation center that includes indoor and outdoor swimming pool, waterslide, wellness spa pool and wave pool.
