Norderstedt located in northern Germany, and belongs to the state of Schleswig-Holstein. The city has about 74,000 innybyggere (2010), and is part of the Hamburg area. By car you can drive to the Hamburg city of approx. 30 minutes.
Norderstedt was founded in 1970, when four small towns were merged into a city.
Of attractions and sights can be found "Feuerwehrmuseum Schleswig-Holstein" - a "fire museum" that tells visitors about fire prevention measures by the end of the Middle Ages and until modern times. The museum has exhibits of old fire engines, uniforms, photographs etc.
Just next to the fire museum is the Municipal Museum with its local history collection.
Pool Area "Arriba" is an attraction for the whole family in Norderstedt. It features water slides, water pool, water carousel, a spa, wave pool and sauna. In summer an outdoor swimming pool open.
In addition, the city has several recreation areas and activity centers.
The nearest airport is Hamburg Airport which is located 7 km south of Norderstedt.
