Belluno is the capital of the province of the same name and located in the northeastern part of Italy .The city and the province belongs to the region Venetia bordering the Adriatic Sea, and the beautiful city of Venice is located on the coast approximately 110 km south of the city. Belluno was founded by the Romans around the year 200 BC Kr and the city is marked by many historical buildings and a contrasting nature. The mountains provide a good starting point for winter activities such as curling and dog sledding tours. Piazza del Duomo is a famous square in Belluno and here one can find several of the city's sights. Piazza dei Rettori stems from the 1400's and the beautiful cathedral was built in the 1500s. Palazzo dei Giuristi is a beautiful building from the 1600s that houses the town museum and some art.
