Bologna is a city in northern Italy , southwest of Venice and north of Florence .Bologna is the capital of Emilia-Romagna, located on a plain at the mouth of the Apennines. Bologna is Italy's seventh largest city with its 370,000 inhabitants. The city is an important road and rail hub.

Bologna is also famous for the two leaning towers Garisenda and Asinelli, dating from the 1100s.The city has many magnificent churches, including Cathedral of San Pietro and the Gothic San Petronio, which was begun in 1390, and completed until 1659.
