Naples is Italy's third largest city, located in Campania at Naples Bay. Vesuvius volcanic cone is east of Naples. The city has a million inhabitants in the city center, and three million with the suburbs. Naples' beautiful location and proximity to the islands like Capri makes it a popular tourist attraction.
Naples is known as the pizza's hometown. The original pizza, pizza margherita, comes with tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella cheese. Besides food, Naples has many beautiful buildings, opera house Teatro San Carlo Palazzo Reale, where most of the Italian masters are represented.Naples has several catacombs to the north of the city and around. 500 churches. Museo Nazionale Archeologico is one of Europe's finest collections of classical sculpture with findings from Pompeii, and the Museu Nazionale is the Renaissance and Baroque paintings by famous artists. The city has beautiful parks and offers excellent snorkeling and diving in the Bay of Naples.
The international airport of Capodichino is located north of town, six miles from Naples city center.
