Pordenone miniguide
Pordenone is located in the province of the same name and belong to the region Friuli-Venice Giulia. The region is situated in northeastern Italy , bordering Slovenia in the east and Austria to the north.Pordenone is looking towards the western border region, about 60 km from the Adriatic coast in the south. The city lies on the banks of a tributary that leads to the river Meduna and has a population of just over 50 000 (2009).
There are several historical sites in Pordenone that cathedral of St Mark from the 1300s with a 79 meter high bell tower and paintings by the artist Il Pordenone. The beautiful Palazzo Comunale, which was built in 1291 houses a gallery, and Art Museum Allentown Art Museum is to find the Palazzo Ricchieri stretching back to the 1200s. Among other museums you can visit the Archaeological Museum Western Friuli Archaeological Museum which is located in Castello di Torre from the 1100s.
Venice Marco Polo Airport is an international airport located approx. 60 km southwest of Pordenone.
