Rimini is a city 50 kilometers southwest of Ravenna in northern Italy .Rimini is located on the Adriatic Sea in the Emilia-Romagna province, on Italy's east coast. Approx. 130,000 inhabitants live in Rimini. From here, trains to San Marino. In summer, take a catamaran to Venice and Croatia .
Rimini is famous for its several-kilometer-long beaches. It is one of Italy's most visited seaside resorts. La Marina south of the city has 16 miles of beach. The beach also started Rimini's history. For more than 800,000 years ago settled the first settlers here. 400 f. Kr. Gauls occupied the area before the Romans settled here in 286 BC. Rimini was a strategic importance as the junctions of Roman roads to Rome, Piacenza and Aquileia. Rimini has several ruins from Roman times: Arch of Augustus and Tiberius, 73 meters long marmorbro, which marks the beginning of Via Emelia. Rimini has many historic buildings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period.
