Valletta is the capital of Malta .The city is located on the northeast coast of the island, between Marsamxett Harbour and Grand Harbour. Valletta has 22,000 inhabitants, approx. 115,000 with the suburbs. From here the ferry to Sicily .
Malta is perhaps best known for his work in the European music contest Eurovision. Valletta was founded in the 1400s by Johannitterordenens Grand Master Jean de la Valette. Malta International Airport is five kilometers outside the city of Valletta.
