Orlando is located in the state of Florida, which consists of the peninsula, in the U.S. southeastern corner - between the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. The town has approx. 200,000 - and is one of Florida's busiest tourist towns.

The biggest attractions are a little outside the center. This includes Walt Disney World Resort (often just called Disney World). It is a giant amusement park (opened in 1971) that includes 4 different theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center and Disney-MGM Studios. Disney World is located 25 miles southwest of downtown Orlando.

Another popular tourist attractions are Sea World (15 km southwest of downtown), where such can see spectacular performances by killer whales, dolphins and sea lions. Also the film and TV-based Universal Orlando Resort (located between Orlando and Sea World), where, among many other things also find Universal Studios, to be mentioned.

Many Orlando tourists will also like to take in a visit to Cape Canaveral (75 miles east of town), where most of the U.S. spacecraft launch.
