Lyngdal is a city located in Vest-Agder county in southern Norway, has 7,700 inhabitants (2009). Lyngdal received city status in 2001 and is an important trade center for the region. The city has a great location with proximity to the sea, several lakes and hills. The highest point is Kalåsknipen, located 506 meters above sea level

The largest tourist attraction in Lyngdal is Sørlandsbadet, located at Rosfjorden, and is a popular water park for the whole family with wave pool, flow channel, whirlpool, water slides, sports pool, children pool and wellness area.

Other sights in Lyngdal and the surrounding area Lyngdal Agricultural Museum with its local history exhibition, Kvås church from 1836, Circle Area Museum (a museum with suchNorway’s smallest post office and a school museum) and Lyngdal church from 1848. Behind the church, the remains of seven large burial mounds, which probably stems from the early Iron Age and Viking.

Both of Rosfjorden and Lyngdal area is great for swimming with sandy beaches.

Lyngdal also hosts “Animal beheld” – an annual fesjåfestival with countless stalls which takes place the first weekend in September. Animal spectacle dates back to 1857 and is still a popular event for both visitors and locals. In addition to the market stalls are carnival a regular ingredient in animal spectacle.
