Stokmarknes located in Nordland county in the district of Vesterålen, and administrative center in Hadsel municipality. Stokmarknes has 3100 inhabitants (2009) and was given city status in 2000. The city is located on the north side of Hadseløya, and has a bridge connection to the mainland via Borøybrua and Hadsel bridge.
