Reims is a city in northern France , 143 kilometers northeast of the capital Paris .Reims is situated on the River Canal de l’Aisne à la Marne and Little. Approx. 188,000 people live here, 216,000 with the suburbs.

Reims was the Celtic Roman capital, when the city was called Civitas Remorum. Reims is famous for its magnificent Gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame, which began in 1211, and ended in the 1200s. It is especially rich in his figure sculptures, and Marc Chagall have adorned the windows in the eastern part. It was here that the French kings were crowned.   Abbey Basilica of Saint-Rémi from 1000’s, and the Roman triumphal arch Porte de Mars from the 300’s are other scenic buildings. Reims is the center of vinhandel, especially for champagne. It is stored in caves in the limestone cliffs around the town. Many of the largest champagne company has offices in Reims, and arranged champagne tasting. Reims is also known as the place where the German capitulation was signed on 7 May 1945.
