Crotone is an old coastal town with beaches and a historic district. Castle Castle of Charles V flank the old city’s coastal side, stretching back to the 1500s. Today it occupies a historic museum in the castle where one can see the armor and swords from the Middle Ages. Piazza Duomo, in front of the cathedral which consists of parts from the 9th century and is a beautiful and much visited square.
