Ski (12,700 inhabitants in 2008) is located in Akershus County – 30 miles south of Norway’s capital Oslo, and the administrative center in Ski. Ski, which received city status in 2004, is a commercial center for the region.

The landscape of the municipality is characterized by hilly forested areas and large agricultural areas.

Ski is perhaps most famous for being a railway town, and an important railway hub for the Oslo area.

There has been some historical findings in Ski – including it is 11,000 years old Stone Age found at Stunner and several burial mounds from the Viking Age at the farm Jensen.

By tourist attractions must ski-in and cultural mentioned, where, among others can see Waldemarhøybygningen – a station house from 1889 – and Ustvedthuset from 1740.

Also Ski church and Kråkstad church is worth a visit. Both are built of stone in the middle of the 1100s.
