Split Airport (SPU) is 25 km west of Split and is the second largest airport in Croatia .There are buses every 20 minutes from Split airport. About 15 car rental companies offer car rentals at the airport, including Budget, Hertz, Europcar, Atlas and City Car. 1,115,099 passengers stopped at Split Airport in 2009.The airport opened in 1966 is under development and   scheduled to be completed in 2014.It is served by around 50 different airlines, and is the base for Croatia Airlines. During 2010 it will be possible to travel to 74 different destinations from Split.

The airport has a restaurant and a bar and a duty free shop. There is also a specialist shop for Croatian goods, bank, post office and VIP lounge.
