Memmingen is a medieval town – famous for its old city gates, towers, gables and beautiful facades. The city also has some of the best preserved palaces and fortifications in southern Germany.
Some of the most visited tourist attractions in the Memmingen is “Frauenkirche” – Our Lady’s Church – from 1258, the town hall from 1589 (with the facade from the 1700s), St. Martin’s Church from 1524 (with its impressive church tower), and “Hermansbau “- a baroque palace from 1766 which today houses the town museum.
