Oeiras is a municipality in the western part of Lisbon , located on the moose Tagus.The city of Oeiras is one of the most densely populated in Portugal .Oeiras downtown has 35,000 inhabitants, while in all the municipalities of living in total 170,000 inhabitants.
Oeiras is perhaps best known for the Estoril Open, part of the ATP tournament, which brings together the world’s tennis small at Estoril Court Central each year. The town dates back to 1208 when the Christians came from the north to establish themselves in Portugal. Municipalities of Oeiras was founded in 1759 of the Marquis of Pombal, just after the earthquake in 1755. Marquise built palace of the county of Oeiras, with a grand stone staircases, statues, tiles and beautiful gardens with cascades and aqueducts. Oeiras was previously part of the fortifications along the coast. In a former gunpowder factory from the 1600s is the cultural center Fabrica da Polvora.
