Aeroporto Internacional Dr. Francisco de Sá Carneiro (OPO) is also known as Aeroporto de Pedras Rubras or Porto Airport, and is located 11 km outside the city of Porto .Francisco Sá Carneiro is the name of a Portuguese prime minister who died in a plane crash in 1980. There are buses between the airport and Porto, and there is a metro station near the airport. The companies that rent out cars are AA Castanheira / Budget, Auto Jardim, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Budget, National Car Rental and Sixt. In 2008, 4,534,829 passengers visit the airport, and it is the third largest in Portugal. Porto Airport serves 11 different airlines flying to around 30 international destinations. Charter routes will be added. There are several cafes in the airport as well as restaurants and bars. In addition to tax free, there is a good selection of shops with products from northern Portugal. The airport also has wireless internet, ATM, post office pharmacy, meeting and business rooms and massage. There are no hotels at the airport.
