Kristianstad (33,100 inhabitants in 2006) located in southern Sweden , and is part of Skåne County.The city is the administrative center of Kristianstad municipality, as well as a commercial and cultural center for the region.

Kristianstad is situated by the lake “Hammarsjön” – approx. 20 km west of Hanöbukten in the Baltic Sea. Parts of Kristianstad is situated below sea level, and Sweden’s lowest point (2.41 meters below sea level) is located here.

At the heart of Kristianstad are good shopping opportunities with shops and cafes, and the main attraction – “Heliga Trefaldighetskyrkan” from 1628 – is also located in the center, right at Stora Torget.
