Nakskov is a town with 13,886 inhabitants (2009), which is situated directly by Nakskov Fjord on the west coast of the southern Danish island of Lolland – Region Sjælland. The distance to Copenhagen is about. 160 km.

The city has a long history, and it has had town rights since 1266. The story is present in many places in the city, where there are many old, well-kept buildings along the narrow, picturesque alleys. The most popular sights are also of architectural art: Skt. Nikolai Church from the 1200s, Queen Pakhus from year 1600, the Old Pharmacy from 1645 (with an extension baroque facade from 1777) and the merchant house Theisen Gaard from 1786.

Also museums, several of the city – mainly the Danish Sugar Museum, the U-Boat Museum U359 and Nakskov Skiba and Søfartsmuseum.

There are ferry connections to the neighboring island of Langeland – and from Rødbyhavn (30 km west of Nakskov) to putt in Germany .The nearest airport is Lolland-Falster Airport between Rodby and Holeby (4 km north of Rødbyhavn).
