Already in the 1200s the area had a reputation for having healing waters and mud, and today visitors can take advantage of the various health farms. Because of its location by the sea tempts Portoroz with lush scenery and beautiful beaches, and along the promenade there are restaurants, bars and a casino. Only 3 km away from Portoroz lies the medieval town of Piran with small, winding streets and historic buildings.
Portoroz Airport is located approx. 6 km from the city and is the smallest of the country’s international airports.
